Joining Weight Watchers On New Years? Groundbreaking.

January 1, 2023Heather

Attention, attention, I have an announcement to make! I joined Weight Watchers. I know, I know, joining WW on New Years Day, can you be any more cliché? What next, joining a gym on New Years Day? I’ll have you know I already belong to a gym…I just never go so I only had to renew my commitment to working out today. Anyhoo, let’s talk about Weight Watchers.

I haven’t been taking the best care of myself lately. I’m not taking in a “oooohhhh I ate a little too much over the holidays” kind of way, but in an “I’ve been McDonald’s alone in my care multiple times a week” kind of way. You might be thinking “you don’t need WW, just cut out the fast food”. First of all, you don’t know what I need! I mean we all know what foods we should be eating and what foods make us feel our best, but I need a little help actually implementing that knowledge. Like I know Mickey D’s will rip my stomach up and give me terrible heartburn, and I know it won’t be worth it, but oh I struggle to resist the McSiren call!

I personally do best with some structure, support, and resources, all things I can get at Weight Watchers in varying amounts both in person and online. I can struggle with disordered eating and I absolutely hate diet culture, so joining Weight Watchers is something I did not take lightly. For me it’s much less about being a certain weight or looking a certain way, and much more about treating my body the way it deserves to be treated. And if anyone has any WW advice, I’m all ears…wish me luck!

This is not sponsored by Weight Watchers in any way, shape, or form, but if any of the good people at WW want to hook me up my heart and palms are open.
