Easy Ways To Live More Sustainably
Let’s talk about easy ways to live more sustainably…
I like to think most of us are good-ish people, and we want to leave the world a better place. But leaving the world a better place sounds like an awfully tall order. Even if we drill that down to something like living more sustainably, it can still be overwhelming. Where do I start? What can I do? Will it even make a difference? Will it be a massive sacrifice?
Living sustainably doesn’t have to be about giving up all the things you love; like your daily dose of caffeine or your guilty pleasure of online shopping. It’ s more about making small, manageable changes that add up to a big impact. Let’s get to it!
Recycling Like A Pro
Ok so we all know we should be recycling, but are you doing it right? No shame, it can get confusing! Glass, plastic, paper, lions and tigers and bears oh my! Take 2o minutes to head on over to your city or town’s website to see what can and can’t be recycled in your area, and the best way to make sure everything actually gets recycled. We’re all learning as we go!
Embrace Thrifting
Vintage is in, darling! Instead of shopping fast fashion chains, why not explore thrifting? You’ll find unique pieces that no one else has, and you’ll be giving those pre-loved threads a new lease on life. It’s a win-win. Plus, nothing compares to the joy of the hunt.
Cut Back On Food Waste
We’ve all been guilty of letting that bag of spinach turn into a science experiment in the back of the fridge. But there are easy ways ro cut back on food waste without having to eat a kitchen sink salad for every meal. Plan your meals, freeze leftovers, and get creative when produce is on its last legs. The planet and your wallet will thank you. If you’re looking to go above and beyond try a food composter like this one HERE.
Ditch The Disposables
Say “tohdaloo” to single use plastics and paper products. Invest in reusable alternatives like metal straws, beeswax wraps, travel cutlery sets, and cloth napkins. Not only will you be reducing your waste, but you’ll also look pretty cool with a rose gold metal straw and bandana napkin.
Get Your Green Thumb On
No, you don’t need a sprawling garden to make a difference. Even if you’re working with just a windowsill, you can grow some fresh herbs or a cute little succulent. It’s a fun way to connect with nature and add a touch of green to your space. Plus according to my TikTok FYP being a crazy plant lady is all the rage.
Living sustainably can be as easy as slipping into your favorite pair of mom jeans. It’s all about making small changes that work for you and the planet. Let’s show Mother Earth some love while still being living life and enjoying everyday pleasures.
