Decluttering Your Life To Discover Your Zen

October 8, 2024Heather

Let’s talk about decluttering your home…

You know what we can all relate to? Clutter. You know, that mountain of stuff that seems to multiply like rabbits? Well we’re going to tackle it, and reclaim our space and sanity!

I know, I know. Some of that stuff has sentimental value, or might come in handy someday. But let’s be real, when was the last time you used that fondue set or slithered into your low rise jeans? And yes I know low rise jeans are in style but we are NEVER GOING BACK. It’s time to let it go.

Start Small, Dream Big

Overwhelmed? Don’t panic! Start with one small area, like a drawer or a closet. Don’t aim for perfection, just progress. You’ll be surprised at how quickly you can get into a decluttering groove.

The KonMari Method (Kinda)

Remember that show where everything sparked joy? Let’s use that as our inspiration. Ask yourself, “Do I love it? Do I use it? Does it serve a purpose?” If the answer is no to all three, GET RID.

Sentimental Stuff

Ah, the dreaded sentimental stuff. We all have it! But let’s be honest, you don’t need to keep every single birthay card or kid’s drawing. Take pictures of the really special stuff and let go of the physical items.

The Guilt-Free Purge

Donate to charity (and take the write-off), have a garage sale (plan a big one with friends and neighbors), or simply toss it. Don’t feel guilty about letting go. Someone else might love that old sweater you never wear, and your home will be all the better for it.

Create A Zen Zone

Once you’ve decluttered, take a moment to appreciate your newfound space. Light a candle, put on some relaxing music, and enjoy the peace and quiet. You deserve it!

Remember, decluttering isn’t just about physical space. It’s about clearing your mind and creating a calm environment. So grab a box, put on some comfy clothes, and let’s get decluttering!
