The Ranking Of Starbucks Holiday Drinks You Need

December 8, 2021Heather

Usually when I treat myself to a coffee run, I keep it local, but this time of year I can’t resist the siren song of the Starbucks holiday drinks! I might just be a sucker for that red cup, but when I’m out running errands I like treat myself to something off a Starbucks holiday drink, and I keep notes. And because I am a kind and benevolent person, I cobbled those notes into this post ranking the Starbucks holiday drinks, you’re welcome.

Creme Brûlée Latte

Maybe it’s because I love real creme brûlée so much that I rank this Starbucks coffee treat so low, but I was not impressed! In my opinion this drink is just a sugary mess of meh. Maybe my expectations were too high (they weren’t), but all I got from this drink was too much fake sweet. Would I drink it again if someone handed me a free one? Probably, but I would think long and hard about wasting my own money on it.

Toasted White Chocolate Mocha

Again with the too sweet! And yes I know you customize your order with less pumps and more espresso to tamper down the sweetness but I’m not a scientist.

Irish Cream Cold Brew

Cold brew hive rise up! A lot of people might not equate Irish Cream with the holidays, but those people clearly did not grow up in a Bailey’s household, liqueur, not George and Harry. As much as I love the Irish Cream Cold Brew’s Irish Cream foam and cocoa powder, it does lose points for not having any actual Irish Cream booze in it.

Chestnut Praline Latte

I begrudgingly ordered a Chestnut Praline Latte at the suggestion of a barista when they were out of Sugar Cookie syrup and I owe both that barista and chestnuts an apology. You see many years ago I tried roasted chestnuts and they tasted like, how can I put this delicately, ass. Because of this negative chestnut experience I’ve stayed away from the CPL since it’s debut in 2014, and I’ve been missing out. The hint of spice in this latte totally balances out the sweetness that’s usually too much. Give this one a try!

Iced Sugar Cookie Latte

Ladies and gentlemen (and they-dies and gentle-them) we have a brand new GOAT! Is the Iced Sugar Cookie Latte sold out almost every time I order it? Yes. Did I almost faint the first time I ordered it and it was almost $7?* Yes. Have either of those things stopped me from ordering this drink every chance I get? Nope. I absolutely love the combo of blonde espresso and Sugar Cookie syrup, and if almond milk isn’t your thing I’m sure it tastes great with regular milk, half and half, cream, coconut milk, oat milk, or soy milk. I give it five out of five Baby Jesuses (he’s the reason for the season).

*I’m not complaining about the price of a latte. I gladly pay a little more when I know the staff is making a decent wage and has benefits.
