I can’t get my head around how people get pressed like a panini about Meghan Markle. It makes no sense. So many people who have never met her, whose lives she has no effect on, just flat out, and very vocally don’t like her. People have no problem saying they don’t trust her, or there’s just something about her they don’t like, with no real evidence to back it up. I want to give people the benefit of the doubt, but a lot of this is straight racism. I’m not one of those “the Royal Family killed Diana” conspiracy theorists, and I would like to say the fumbles the Royal Family made after her death were in earnest, but…the Queen didn’t lower the flag, or speak to her country for five days! And then of course making William and Harry, only fifteen and twelve at the time, walk behind their beloved mother’s casket in a public procession. Guys I’m beginning to think they aren’t great people!

I saved the worst for last. Like with most episodes of The Crown, after I watched The Hereditary Principle (season 4 episode 7), I thought “did that really happen?” and headed to my good friend, Google. Much to my dismay, the story of Nerissa and Katherine Bowes-Lyon is, in fact true. Imagine having the world at your disposal, money being no object, access to the greatest doctors and therapists in the world; and instead of helping incredibly vulnerable family members, you ship them off to an institution and fake their deaths. No really, try to just think about being that cold and awful, you probably can’t.
So these are the people Meghan has dealt with for the past few years. A “family” that covers up for a favorite pedophile son, but hides cousins with developmental disabilities, with a smattering of racists and Nazis. If you’re more upset about Meghan Markle moving to California to be with her mom than you are about ANY of this scandals, you need to do look inward, my friend.
