5 Casual Daytime Sequin Outfits You Need To Try ASAP
Maybe it’s because the world is a giant dumpster fire, maybe it’s because it’s been a year since I’ve put on “going out” clothes, or maybe it’s because I’m trying to grab on to joy wherever I can find it, but any way you slice it I’m really into sequins lately. Like for reals, I’ve worn sequins on two separate days to work this week. Sequins are fun; they not only make the wearer happy, but I think they make everyone who sees the sequin outfit happy. How you can look at a sequin and bummed out? You can’t! Sequins are traditionally thought of as an evening outfit, I wore an AMAZING gold sequin number from Rent the Runway for my 40th birthday party last year, but you can take them out in the daytime; they are not vampires! It’s possible, no it’s EASY to put together a casual sequin outfit, and I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite daytime sequin looks to inspire you.
Head to toe monochromatic with a knotted t-shirt? Genius!
Afraid sequins are a little too precious? Toughen up a sequin skirt with combat boots and a leather jacket. You are such a bad ass.
Sequins aren’t my only obsession, I also have a bit of robe addiction. There is something about this sequin/robe combo that’s just so cool. It practically screams “rich bitch”, which I love, even though I am a poor bitch.
I hold Jenna Lyons personally responsible for so many of my sartorial cravings. Leopard print, feathers, stripes, camo, mixing prints, matching prints, SEQUINS. I mean look how amazing the sequin blazer is with a plain white button down and jeans?
You might think a full length sequin dress is way too fancy to wear during the day. You would be wrong, my friend. Sneakers, a baseball hat, zebra bag, and camo jacket take a sequin dress from “la di da” to street style.
Did I convince you to wear sequins this week? If I did, I’d love to see your outfit on the Instagrams. I’m at @wewomenofacertainage, hope to see you there!
